NTD Athenet recommends that our customers use Outlook Express because of its ability to handle multiple email addresses easily and its ease of use. You are free to use any other POP3 email program if you wish.

Fixes for common email problems
I get errors when I try to get my email.
- Make sure you are connected to the Internet. Can you navigate to web sites?
- Turn off the email scanning options in your antivirus program. Many of these programs can prevent your email from being received
Outlook Express won't open attachments.
Outlook Express 6 includes a new security feature which will disable any attachments which could possibly be a virus. In reality this tends to keep you from viewing most attachments. To turn this feature off open Outlook Express and click on Tools, Options and the Security tab. Uncheck the box marked "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus," click OK and then close Outlook Express. When you reopen it you should have access to your attachments again.

Accessing your Email from any web browser
We now offer a special email client that makes it possible for you to read and send email by using a web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator. Simply use your normal email username (usually the part of your address before the @) and password to access your email from anywhere. This NTD Athenet subscriber feature allows you to keep up with your emails while on business or vacation from anywhere in the world. Click on the "Web Mail" banner at the top of any NTD Athenet page.
